Political rivalry touched a new low in UP on Friday when volunteers of the Bundelkhand Vikas Sena attacked the headquarters of the UPCC office leaving several party workers injured.

The Bundelkhand Vikas Sena is headed by Ganga Chanran Rajput who was hoping for a BJP ticket from Hamirpur. In an attempt to ‘attract the attention of the top BJP leaders’, his workers barged into the office and ransacked the furniture and building, badly hurting the unarmed Congress workers. Later on, the police arrested a few volunteers of the socio-political outfit.

The Bundelkhand Vikas Sena demanded adequate compensation for the farmers whose crops were lost in the recent rains and hailstorms. They blamed the Congress for the delay in distribution of the compensation.

In a separate incident, the Congress candidate from Saharanpur Imran Masood threatened to reduce the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate to pieces. Later on, he apologised for his remarks.
