Central Railway to run special trains for Velankanni festival

The Central Railway will run two special trains from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus here to Velankanni in Tamil Nadu to tackle the passenger rush during the Velankanni Festival.

MUMBAI: The Central Railway will run two special trains from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus here to Velankanni in Tamil Nadu to tackle the passenger rush during the Velankanni Festival.

Special train (01031) will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 1.20 PM on August 26 and reach Velankanni at 10 PM the next day, while in the return journey, train (01032) will depart from Velankanni station on August 28 at 8.30 AM and arrive in Mumbai at 4.20 PM next day, a Central Railway release said here.

The stations where the trains will make halts are -- Kalyan, Pune, Solapur, Gulbarga, Wadi, Yadgir, Raichur, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tirupadaripulliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

Bookings for the trains on special charges will start from tomorrow.
