The incident occurred after the school hours when the children had left, they said.

Some assailants barged in the school and targeted the teacher, said to be in his 40s, who was sitting with some other teachers and preparing to leave the premises, they said.

While the teacher was rushed to hospital in Rohtak where he succumbed, a woman teacher was also injured in the incident and was hospitalised, police said.
