C R Chaudhary: Septuagenarian with keen interests in rural development

Former civil servant and BJP MP from Rajasthan C R Chaudhary made it to the expanded cabinet as Minister of State. He represents Nagaur constituency in the parliament.  

NEW DELHI: Former civil servant and BJP MP from Rajasthan C R Chaudhary made it to the expanded cabinet as Minister of State. He represents Nagaur constituency in the parliament.  

The 70-year-old BJP leader has keen interests in rural development and took training in Rural Development in University of Birmingham at United Kingdom.

Elected to parliament in 2014 for the first time, Chaudhary is Member, Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Member, Standing Committee on Human Resource Development and Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping.

He is dedicated for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden and works for educating girls. Chaudhary is Honorary Chairman of Veer Teja Mahila Shikshan & Shoudh Sansthan Marwar, Mundwa where girls are given education from class VI to graduation and BEd on very affordable cost while girls from poor background and orphan girls are given education free of cost.

Before joining Rajasthan Administrative Services, 1978- 2001, he was Lecturer, Government College, Barmer and Ajmer from 1971-1977. He was Chairman, Rajasthan Public Service Commission from 2002-2010 and was also elected as President of the Association of Rajasthan Administrative.

 He has been a Volleyball player and played at School, College and University level.
