Rahul Gandhi approves 3 more names as Punjab Congress general secretaries

The party has already announced a jumbo list of office-bearers of the party in the state, in a bid to please all sections and factions.

NEW DELHI: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today approved three more names for inclusion as general secretaries in the Punjab unit of the party.

The names of Gurcharan Singh Dirba, Ramesh Joshi and Sachin Sharma have been approved for appointment as general secretaries in PPCC, AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said.

The party has already announced a jumbo list of office-bearers of the party in the state, in a bid to please all sections and factions.

Congress is striving to wrest back power from the ruling Akali-BJP combine. Entrant AAP is also giving it a tough fight. The state goes to poll early next year.
