Lko-Agra Expressway to be opened for public on December 23

LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has issued directives to open the newly-constructed Lucknow-Agra Expressway for public on December 23, 2016. Issuing orders to this effect after a meeting here on late Monday evening, the Chief Minister instructed the officials concerned to make all suitable arrangements on the Expressway to ensure a safe and smooth journey for all. They were also asked to depute police personnel and fix the speed of the vehicles at 100 km per hour on the hi-tech road in order to avoid accidents.

According to a state government press release, the Chief Minister asked the officials to put adequate number of signboards showing maximum speed limit and other necessary information along with
barriers at small distances on the Expressway for public convenience. Directives were also issued to place mobile vans carrying LED screens at different intervals for public awareness and proper arrangement of ambulances should also be made to meet any exigency. 

The 302-km long hi-tech expressway project was inaugurated by the Chief Minister and SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav jointly in a mega show at Bangarmau near Unnao on November 21.
