CHANDIGARH: A day after a video of Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot ‘threatening’ the lady principal of a school in Nabha went viral, another video of Congress MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki threatening police officers of dire consequences  upon not obeying the directives of Congress workers, have gone viral putting the Capt Amarinder Singh led Congress government in a fix.

A video surfaced on Saturday in which Congress MLA from Khadoor Sahib, Ramanjit Singh Sikki is seen threatening the police officials into submitting to the demands of his followers or face consequences. “DSP sahib, tell the Station House Officers (SHOs) to not let my supporters leave the police station disappointed, if they come for any work. If I come to know that any of my supporters have gone unsatisfied, I will reach the police station myself. And, if that happens, be ready for the consequences,” said Sikki addressing a public gathering in his constituency.

Without wasting any time, the Opposition Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) hit out at Sikki for threatening SHOs with dire consequences if they did not obey the directives of Congress workers.

Stating that immediate action should be taken against the Congress legislator under relevant sections of the law for threatening a government official and preventing him from doing his duty in an impartial manner, the former finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa said there was a complete mismatch in statements emanating from Chandigarh and the actions of Congress functionaries in the field.

“Yesterday (Friday) Welfare of SC and BCs minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot got piqued at his name not being mentioned in the first line of a foundation stone inaugurating an academic block built by philanthropists at Nabha. He publically humiliated and bullied the school principal. Today Sikki is threatening to take away the jobs of police officers if they don’t obey the dictates of Congress workers,’’ he said.

He said the SAD would not keep quiet or tolerate the launch of a well-planned systematic vendetta drive against Akali workers. “The SAD will launch a mass movement to stop this vendetta drive in its tracks”, he said adding the party would face all cases of vendetta in unison”
