LUCKNOW: Issuing a word of caution against complacency, CM Yogi Adityanath reminded the BJP workers of people’s expectations with which they had empowered the BJP with a thumping majority and also the accountability which had increased manifold with it.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of Bundelkhand for the humongous mandate they extended to the BJP while addressing party workers in Jhansi during his maiden and first visit to any division on Thursday after assuming charge.

Yogi during his discourse did not forget to warn the cadre against indulging in vigilantism in the name of cow protection and derailing government’s motto of sabka saath, sabka vikas.

“Don’t take law into your hands. Inform the authorities about problems. Let the dispensation of the day solve it for you, don’t jump to resolve them on your own,” suggested Adityanath in a stern message to vigilante groups and fringe Hindutva outfits.

He claimed that ‘achhe din’ had arrived and buttressed it by announcing a six-lane expressway linking Bundelkhand to New Delhi. He reiterated his government’s resolve to mitigate water woes of the people of Bundelkhand which, he said, bagged a lot of development packages which remained relegated to the mere announcement and failed to do any good for the people of the backward region.

“We are going to connect Bundelkhand to New Delhi through a six-lane expressway. This will help in drawing industries to the region, stop migration and create job opportunities for the youth,” Yogi told party workers at Para-Medical College auditorium.

Referring to his first visit to Jhansi, the CM said: “I wanted to come here many times but the previous
administrations never allowed me. I wanted to see the land where Rani Lakshmibai showed the world how to fight for freedom and pride at the tender age of 23.”

Yogi Adityanath committed his government to the overall development of the state especially Bundelkhand saying his ministers were slogging 18-20 hours a day to bring about the needed and expected change in the work culture of the state. “The Prime Minister has instructed me to give special attention to Bundelkhand and solve all the problems related to drinking water and irrigation,” he said, adding that the purpose of his endeavour would stand defeated if even a single person of Bundelkhand was left thirsty. Acknowledging the hardships and sufferings of the people, CM Adityanath said that if schemes sanctioned by Centre for Bundelkhand would be implemented with right earnest the problem of water would be solved within two years.

The CM took the opportunity to do some explaining over his government’s  crackdown on slaughterhouses. “We have resolved to work with accountability in each sphere of governance especially the issues related to national interest. We have stopped illegal slaughterhouses on the order of Supreme Court and in conformance of the NGT norms,” he said.

The CM also reminded the party cadre of the schemes meant for the welfare of farmers, youth, women, poor and deprived and sought their support in implementing them with promptness so that the benefit could reach the last man as early as possible.

He mentioned all the decisions his government had taken during the last one month in office for the benefit of the people of state.

He urged the administrative officials to be more sensitive towards the people, and cautioned them against holding any file for more than three days. “After three days, they will have to answer the reason of delay in disposal,” he asserted.
