Former Bigg Boss contestant Swami Om ji Maharaj arrested on theft charges

Confirming the development DCP crime Branch Madhur Verma said that the accused was arrested from Bhajanpura area of East Delhi.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police crime branch on Wednesday arrested Swami Sadachari alias Swami Om ji Maharaj from east Delhi. According to the police, he was declared ‘proclaimed offender’ by a local court. The self-proclaimed godman Swami Om ji has earlier participated in Big Boss event.

Confirming the development DCP crime Branch Madhur Verma said that the accused was arrested from Bhajanpura area of East Delhi.

In November 2008, an FIR was registered against Vinodanand Jha aka Swami Omji on a complaint by his younger brother Pramodh Jha, who accused him of breaking the lock of his bicycle shop in Lodhi Colony here along with three men and stealing 11 bicycles, expensive spare parts, sale deed of the house and important documents.

Swami Om ji also faces charges under the Arms Act, Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in other matters and almost a dozen of cases have been registered against him.
