Man dies in pellet firing by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir

One person was killed today when security forces fired pellets to chase away a mob of stone-pelting youths in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: One person was killed today when security forces fired pellets to chase away a mob of stone-pelting youths in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, police said.

Owais Shafi (22) sustained multiple pellet injuries in his chest at Kakapora in Pulwama and was referred to SMHS Hospital here for treatment, a police official said.

He said Shafi was declared dead on arrival by doctors.
