Bihar: Three labourers killed, another injured in road accident

BEGUSARAI: Three labourers were killed and another was injured today in a road accident in Bihar's Begusarai district, a police officer said.

The mishap took place near Harpur village on NH-31 as the passenger jeep collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Three occupants of the jeep, all of them labourers, died on the spot, while another suffered injuries, Barauni Refinery police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Ajnabi said.

The victims were identified as Md Lalbabu (35), Md Javed (35) and Md Muzaffar Alam (37), all natives of Kishanganj district, he said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

The injured person was identified as Md Sajid Alam (36).  He has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment where his condition was stated to be serious, Ajnabi said.

The labourers were on way to their home in Kishanganj district after arriving at Barauni railway junction by a train from Jammu & Kashmir when the mishap took place, the police officer added.
