Chairman of Railway Board Ashok Mittal quits

According to TV reports, Ashok Mittal has submitted his resignation to Union minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu.

In the wake of number of train derailments in the country, the Chairman of the Railway Board Ashok Mittal has resigned.
According to TV reports, Ashok Mittal has submitted his resignation to Union minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu.

The Utkal Express on derailed on Saturday near Muzaffarnagar leaving 22 dead and injuring more than 150 people. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had directed Chairman, Railway Board, to fix responsibility on "prima facie evidence by the end of day" into the derailment of the Utkal Express in Uttar Pradesh.
Within four days, on Wednesday the Kaifyat Express from Azamgarh to Delhi collided with a dumper between Pata and Achhalda railway stations and derailed injuring more than 70.
