Two youths found dead under mysterious circumstances in Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Two youths were today found dead under mysterious circumstances in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Athar (17) and Umar Sohail (20), hailing from Darhal area of Rajouri district, about 130 kms from the site where their bodies were found.

The bodies were found in Palpora area of Shopian this morning, a police official said.

He said there were no injury or torture marks on the bodies, which have been sent for postmortem.

Preliminary investigation suggests possibility of drug overdose as some syringes and powdery substance were recovered from the deceased, the official said.

A case has been registered and probe started, he said.
