Union Home Ministry appoints three consultants for tracking social media content

NEW DELHI: The Union Home Ministry has appointed three private persons as consultants to monitor and analyse social media contents relating to the ministry.
 
The Ministry has appointed SB Navrang, Shishir Tripathi and Ravi Ranjan as consultants on contractual basis for a period of one year.
 
“The assignment will be part of the Social Media Cell of the Ministry of Home Affairs and shall work under the overall supervision and control of Additional Director General (Media) of this Ministry,” reads the order relating to the appointment of the consultants. 
 
While Navrang will get a monthly salary of Rs 70,000, Tripathi’s compensation will be Rs 50,000 per month and Ranjan will be paid Rs 30,000 every month.
           
The trio is said to have been associated with the IT Cell of the BJP during the 2014 Parliamentary polls in Uttar Pradesh, sources said.
