LUCKNOW: BSP chief Mayawati on Saturday exhorted her partymen and campaign managers to target Modi government over its “non-performance” and demonetisation and the Samajwadi Party over the ongoing family and poor law  and order situation in Uttar Pradesh under Akhilesh government.
She was speaking after releasing the third list of 100 candidates, which has 49 from Muslims and Dalit community, for the UP assembly polls.

“If the ruling party cannot put its own house in order, what can it do for the welfare of the state,” she was quoted as saying by a leader who attended the meeting but requested anonymity.
Mayawati has been cautioning Muslim voters not to waste their ballots by backing the faction-ridden SP as split in their votes would ultimately help the BJP.

Terming BJP as the “friendly party” of the Samajwadi Party, she told party workers that in order to divert peoples attention from BJP’s unfulfilled poll promises, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought note ban without any preparation and now he is indulging in gimmicks and issuing statements to ward off any adverse impact in the elections.

In all, over 80 Muslim candidates have already got the party tickets in the BSP list of 300 candidates with the last list expected on Sunday. As per the caste-wise break up of candidates revealed by party chief Mayawati on Tuesday, the BSP has decided to field 97 Muslims and 87 Dalits, 113 upper castes (66 brahmins and 36 kshatriyas)  and 106 OBCs.

The most prominent name in the third list is party’s state unit chief Ram Achal Rajbhar, who will contest from Akbarpur seat in Ambedkarnagar district.
Taking a lead over other parties, the BSP had decided candidates for all the 403 constituencies much in advance.

Mayawati asked partymen to raise the issue of proposed Parliament session from January 31 and union budget presentation on February 1, 2017 with the motive to woo the voters in poll-bound states. The BSP cadre was also asked to focus on the ongoing family feud in SP apart from bad law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
