Godavari flowing above danger mark in Nashik at Maharashtra

MUMBAI: The Godavari river was in spate this evening after gates of the Gangapur dam were opened.

While over 10,000 cusecs of water were being released since morning, the quantity was raised at 3 pm, leading to floods in several parts of the city.

The flood water has submerged most of the bridges that run over the river, police sources said.

All precautions were being taken and people on the river bank have been moved to safer locations, police said.
