Uttar Pradesh: Abducted Jhansi traders rescued after twelve days

At the end of an encounter like situation which went on till late Tuesday night, both men were freed from the clutches of their abductors from their hideout in Agra district.

LUCKNOW: In a late night crackdown, special task force (STF) of UP police rescued Jhansi businessman Raju Kamariya and his associate Rahul Agarwal on Tuesday 12 days after their abduction. 

At the end of an encounter like situation which went on till late Tuesday night, both men were freed from the clutches of their abductors from their hideout in Agra district.

According to an officer, the two were held inside a school building in Sikandara area of Agra. Police were checking if the school building was being used in the recent past.

 Inspector general, STF, Amitabh Yash and DIG Manoj Tiwari personally monitored the operation from Lucknow throughout the day.

Yash said that family of the two businessmen was informed and their kin were on their way to west UP.

The duo was abducted by khakhi clad criminals from Jhansi on July 13.
