BJP party president Amit Shah filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha election from Gujarat. Shah will make his debut in Parliament as he will contest the Rajya Sabha polls from Gujarat on August 8.

Amit Shah is a sitting MLA from Naranpura in Ahmedabad.

BJP's other Rajya Sabha nominee from Gujarat is I&B and textiles minister Smriti Irani.
