Cop shot dead in Agra, hunt on to nab killers

A constable was shot dead on the Sau Futa road in Tedhi Bagia area of Etmauddaual police station here on Saturday.

AGRA: A constable was shot dead on the Sau Futa road in Tedhi Bagia area of Etmauddaual police station here on Saturday.

Satish Yadav and Kuldip Yadav were on a patrolling duty in the area this morning when they spotted four suspicious men on two-wheeler and asked them to stop, but the assailants flee away. 

The two cops chased them and managed to catch hold of two assailants. The two assailants who managed to escape came back and fired at Satish from close range. Two bullets hit him, one in the jaw and the other in the stomach. All four assailants later escaped.

Rushed to the hospital, the doctors declared Satish brought dead.

Senior police officials reached the site along with sniffer dogs. A hunt is on to nab the killers.

A condolence meeting was later held at the Police Lines here which was attended by Additional Director General of Police Ajay Anand, Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Dubey, District Magistrate Gaurav Dayal and other senior police officers.
