SIT formed in Manesar gang rape

The Gurgaon Police on Tuesday formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the heinous gangrape of a 23 year old woman in a moving auto.

NEW DELHI: The Gurgaon Police on Tuesday formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the heinous gangrape of a 23 year old woman in a moving auto.   

According to the police few people have been identified as to be suspected in the incident and has released the sketches of the three involved. Last week on the night May 29th the victim had a fight with her husband after which she decided to leave for her parent’s home, near Manesar around midnight she was offered a ride by an auto which already had three passengers, along with was her nine month old infant. The three accused allegedly started molesting the victim to which she resisted and the men threw the baby out of rickshaw. A case of rape and murder against the three people.

"A case of murder and sexual assault has been registered.  An SIT has been formed to investigate the matter" Gurgaon Police spokesperson Umesh Singh said.

However, the matter is not entirely clear on the case as the victim first said that the three people had thrown her baby out of the auto rickshaw and only later she accused them of rape, the police informed.

This latest incident comes close on the heels of another incident in which two women were allegedly raped at Yamunanagar and Ambala in Haryana, police said. Two horrific incidents of rape also shook Haryana last month.
