Ludhiana industrialist kills family, takes his own life

While the corpses of the industrialist's wife and son were found in one room, Jagmeet's body lay in another.

CHANDIGARH: An industrialist allegedly shot dead his wife and son and injured his daughter before taking his own life at his house in Ludhiana's Model Town Extension.

The bodies of Jagmeet Pal Singh Khurana, his wife Jaspreet Kaur alias Neetu (38) and their son Jashandeep Singh (18) were found lying inside the house by their gardener.

Ludhiana police commissioner R N Dhoke said prima facie it seemed that Khurana killed his family members before killing himself.

The incident came to light this morning when neither Khurana, who lived on the first floor of the house, came down to meet his mother Mohinder Kaur who lives on the ground floor. The woman grew anxious and asked the gardener to go upstairs and check.

The gardener found the door locked from inside.  Police were called and they broke open the door.

While the corpses of the industrialist's wife and son were found in one room, Jagmeet's body lay in another.

His daughter Bisman (15) was found in a pool of blood outside the room. She was rushed to the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, where her condition is said to be critical.

Police recovered Khurana's revolver from near his body.

A dog squad and forensic team reached the spot.

"We have registered a case and will be investigating all angles," police commissioner Dhoke said.

Forty-year-old Khurana owned a foundry at Focal Point in Ludhiana and iron store at Millerganj.
