GST slashed on insulin, agarbattis, school bags and printers

NEW DELHI: The GST Council decided to revise the proposed tax rates of 66 of the 133 items reviewed at meeting in New Delhi today.

Tax rates on computer printers have been lowered to 18 per cent from the earlier 28 per cent.

Further, GST on insulin and agarbattis have been revised to 5 per cent from the earlier 12 per cent.

The tax rate for school bags has been lowered to 18 per cent from 28 per cent.

The meeting also decided to allow traders, manufacturers and restaurant owners with a turnover of up to Rs 75 lakh to avail the composition scheme under the GST, finance minister Arun Jaitley said after chairing the meeting.
