BJP leads strongly in Uttarakhand

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday established a strong lead over the ruling Congress in Uttarakhand as officials counted the votes polled in assembly elections.

DEHRADUN: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday established a strong lead over the ruling Congress in Uttarakhand as officials counted the votes polled in assembly elections.

BJP candidates led in 15 of the 23 seats where counting trends were available followed in eight seats by the Congress. Uttarakhand voted on February 15 to elect a 70-member house.
