Number of Indian students in the US rising

NEW DELHI: There has been a consistent increase in the number of Indian students in the US during the last three years, the Lok Sabha was informed.

In a written reply, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said that as per the US Institute of International Education (IIE), there were over 1.6 lakh students from India in 2015-2016.

India remains engaged with the US government and the Congress in regard to all issues relating to the Indian students including their training and employment, the minister added.

Replying to another question, he said there were over 4.4 lakh Indian students studying in other countries as of March 27, 2017.
