UP: Rule of law would prevail without making any distinction, says senior BJP leader

The minister, while interacting informally at the BJP headquarter, said that the law would be even handed and the police would not spare any, including those with affiliation with the saffron outfit.

NEW DELHI: Amidst reports of the Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) allegedly unleashing violence in the state, a senior BJP leader and minister in the Adityanath Yogi Cabinet said that the rule of law would prevail without making any distinction.

When asked about reported incidents of the HYV against members of the minority community in Uttar Pradesh, the minister, while interacting informally at the BJP headquarter, said that the law would be even handed and the police would not spare any, including those with affiliation with the saffron outfit.

“Let me make it very clear, the rule of law will be enforced without any bias. Action will be taken against anyone who violates the law,” said the minister.

He also stated that each Cabinet minister and Ministers of state with independent charges have been given charges of two districts in the state to ensure that the developmental works are being effectively carried out.

Incidentally, the HYV has allegedly been involved in unleashing violence against members of minority community in various parts of the state after the BJP government came to power in the state.
