Speeding jeep mows down three in UP's Ballia

The incident took place last night when they were sleeping on the pavement on the rear side of the temple.

BALLIA (UP): A speeding jeep ran amok in Maniyar area here, killing three women and injuring as many
others, police said today.

The victims had come to pay obeisance at Navka Brahm Sthaan. The incident took place last night when they were sleeping on the pavement on the rear side of the temple.

Sangeeta Devi (36), Pushpa Devi (38) and Anjali (23) were killed on the spot. Three others were injured in the incident.

An FIR has been registered in connection with it though no arrest has been made so far, the police said.
