Twelve dead, 25 injured in two separate mishaps in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Two separate accidents on Monday claimed 12 lives and injured 25 others in Dindori and Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. The first mishap happened when a bus going to Amarkantak in Anuppur district for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's program overturned near Ramnagar village of Dindori district at around 6.30 am.
 
The bus also ran over two people standing near another bus, who were also going for the programme. While 25 passengers were rushed to the hospital, three, including a passenger of the ill fated bus died on the spot.
 
The deceased, included two village panchayat secretaries Azad Tiwari and Asharam Sahu from Katni district and Yogesh Badhar.
 
The second road mishap occurred in Jaisinghnagar area of Shahdol district, when a SUV with 14 people rammed into a stationary truck at around 3 pm.
 
Nine people, possibly from one family hailing from Chhattisgarh's Kodagaon district died, while four others, including the SUV driver, are said to be critical.
 
The passengers from Chhattisgarh were on way back from Varanasi in east Uttar Pradesh, Jaisinghnagar police station in charge SM Patel said.
 
Police are waiting for the injured persons to gain consciousness to establish the identity of the nine deceased.
