Ministry External Affairs helpline for information on Indians aboard capsized cargo ship in Japan

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) today announced helpline numbers for information related to the sinking of a cargo ship off Japan, in which 11 Indians went missing.

On Friday, the 33,205-tonne cargo ship Emerald Star sank off Okinawa. Fifteen Indians were rescued, while a search was still on for the missing 11.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted that those seeking information regarding the accident can get in touch with the MEA control room on 0091-11-23012113/ 0091-11-23017905 and 0091-11-23015300 or at PTI PR SMN .
