LUCKNOW: A girl student of Class IX, studying at Modern City Montessori School in Nehru Nagar locality of Deoria district, eastern Uttar Pradesh, died on Monday after falling off the third storey of the building on Monday.

Neetu Chauhan (16) was allegedly pushed by unidentified persons while she had gone to toilet, located on the third floor, and her classroom was on the first floor, claimed sources.

A profusely bleeding girl was rushed to a nearby medical facility from where she was referred to Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Gorakhpur, but she succumbed on the way.

Apprehending trouble from the parents of other students, the school management has locked down the school and gone untraceable.

Police said the mobile phone of school's principal Adya Tiwari was switched off since the incident.

After taking the body home, Neetu’s family lodged an FIR against unidentified persons on charges of murder at the local police station, while her father also revealed that one of her schoolmate, a boy, had been stalking Neetu.

While investigating the case, the district police administration discovered that the CCTV cameras installed at the school were dysfunctional.

The probe into the case is on and the police administration is making efforts to round the school authorities to get further leads in the case, said Deoria superintendent of police.
