Three constables suspended and booked for inserting foreign object in man’s private parts

BHOPAL: A 52-year-old man who was allegedly physically tortured in police custody on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh is now battling for life at a private hospital in Varanasi, UP.

The victim, Suggalal Vaish, was picked up for questioning on Tuesday late night from his house in Daga village of Singrauli district, after cops from Bargawan police station purportedly found ganja under a bed on which he was sleeping outside his house. 

In the police station, the three Bargawan police station constables identified as Pawan Verma, Ravi Verma and Chhatrapati Singh tortured Vaish for over three hours. When the police station in-charge Rakesh Sahu returned from night patrol, he found the middle-aged man writhing in pain.

Medical examination of the victim at Singrauli’s Nehru Hospital established that a foreign body was inserted in his anal canal causing internal injury to intestines. 

Acting in the matter, the three Singrauli district police constables the three constables, who allegedly tortured Vaish have been suspended. They have also been booked under Sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (obscenity), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (crime with common intent) of IPC.
