BHOPAL: In an episode that's bound to send shivers down spine, a 20-year-old alleged rape survivor Dalit woman arrived along with a bag containing an aborted fetus at the superintendent of police office in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh (500 km from Bhopal) on Wednesday evening.

The woman alleged that both she and her mother were abducted by the man who raped her since last seven months on Tuesday evening and taken to the house of a private nurse, where the nurse forcefully carried out the abortion of the six-month-old fetus. The woman was asked to throw the aborted fetus in a nullah, failing which she and her family would be killed by the accused.

The woman and her mother were allowed to return home only after her father arrived and took her away along with a promise that the matter wouldn’t be reported to the local police. However, gathering courage, the alleged rape survivor woman along with kin went to Satna district’s Civil Lines police station on Wednesday morning, but the local police didn’t entertain the complaint allegedly under pressure of the accused.

Unable to get justice, the woman then went to the SP’s office along with bag containing the aborted fetus, after which a case of rape, kidnapping, forced abortion and culpable homicide of unborn child and criminal intimidation was lodged on SP Satna Rajesh Hingankar’s instructions.

The accused have also been booked under provisions of SC/ST Atrocities Act.

“Five persons, including the prime accused Neeraj Pandey, his aides and the nurse who allegedly carried the abortion of fetus have been booked and attempts are being made to arrest them,” Satna SP Rajesh Hingankar told The New Indian Express on Thursday.

The woman has alleged that seven months back, the Neeraj Pandey abducted her while she went out to attend nature’s call and then raped her at a desolate place. After that Neeraj repeatedly raped her and when she tried to report the matter to police a few weeks back, Neeraj promised to marry her soon.

Just a few days back, the woman came to know that she was pregnant, after which she along with mother was on way to government hospital in Satna on Tuesday, when she was kidnapped by Neeraj and aides before being taken to the nurse’s wife, where the six-months-old fetus was aborted.
