JAMMU: Poonch district administration officials today visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Balakote sector to review the situation of border residents.

They inspected construction of bunkers and other basic facilities being provided to border residents, especially medical services in view of frequent Pakistani firing, an official spokesman said.

The team of officials led by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Tariq Ahmad Zargar visited areas from the zero-point Kanga Gali to Danyote, he said.

They interacted with locals to know their problems.

The team also visited Briyani Gail, Ramlutta, Dhratti and Basoni, and met with several delegations, the spokesman said.

He said that the DDC directed officers concerned to resolve grievances related to drinking water, medical facilities, and upgrading and black topping of a road from Kanga Gali to Dhynote.

Zargar said that sufficient bunkers along the LoC would be constructed by the district administration for the safety of people in these areas which experienced repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
