NEW DELHI: An earthquake of 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale, struck Andaman Islands region at around 0205 hrs IST in the wee hours on Thursday.
The earthquake hit at a depth of 10 km, the IMD said.
The epicenter of quake was located at 14.7 degrees North latitude and 96.4 degrees East longitude, the IMD said.
