Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide in Madhya Pradesh

While another relative claimed that the deceased took the step as he was being harassed by the Sarpanch of the village and another person.

SAGAR: A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district on Thursday.

The 35-year-old Suresh Yadav allegedly committed suicide by consuming sulphas. Yadav was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment.

Yadav was under debt and had to pay back a loan of Rs 3 lakh to a bank.

According to a close relative, he was under depression after his crop was destroyed last year.

While another relative claimed that the deceased took the step as he was being harassed by the Sarpanch of the village and another person.

The Police has registered a case and is further investigating the matter.
