SRINAGAR: Separatists have called for a general strike on Saturday against the shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Milat (DeM) chief Asiya Andrabi and her two associates to New Delhi, where a court has sent them to ten days detention on Friday.

Andrabi and her two associates Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen were shifted to Delhi by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with all militancy funding and other anti-national activities.

They were presented before Patiala House court on Friday.

The Joint Resistance Leadership, comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and Mohammad Yaseen Malik have called for the general strike tomorrow against the shifting and detention of DeM chief and others to New Delhi.

The JRL has already called for a general strike on July 8 on the second death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani, who was killed in an encounter by security forces in Anantnag.

The killing of Burhan led to massive protests across the Kashmir valley in which 120 people were killed in security force action.
