LUCKNOW: On the basis of a bizarre video clip showing a middle aged woman being molested in woods by a couple of youths, police arrested three pen charges of abduction and molestation under Gangaghat police station area in Unnao on Friday.
The video clip, which went viral on social media on Friday, was believably shot a few days ago. While the victim, a widow, shown in the video later claimed that she was gangraped by the four men, three were visible in the clip and a hunt has been launched for the fourth one who was making the video of the incident.
Those arrested by Unnao police on Friday were identified as Rahul, Vimal and Akash. Unnao superintendent of police Harish Kumar said the 6-7 persons were believed to have abducted the victim, 30, and molested her.
However, narrating her tale of woes, the victim said that while on way back home from hospital along with one of her acquaintances, she took shelter under a tree for a while to escape the scorching sun. Suddenly, four-five youth came and waylaid her to a nearby forest.
Later, they all took turns with her. They were not known to me. I don't know their names but I can identify them by their faces," claimed the victim. "The arrested men are being questioned for information on the whereabouts of their accomplices," said the SP adding that an FIR was lodged against six persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act.
The district police chief has also set up a team to nab the remaining four suspects. "It is a heinous crime to harass a woman and filming the incident on a cellphone with the intention to post it on social media. Nobody one will be spared," said Kumar.
