MYSURU: A bride who was about to tie the knot on Sunday, sprung a surprise on her relatives and friends, when she allegedly eloped with her lover.

Nandini, a resident of Hosahalli village in H D Kote, was engaged to a Krishna Nayaka of Marbahalli. Their wedding was scheduled to be conducted at Srikanteshwara temple in Ullahalli.

With the preparations in full swing, Nandhini gave her parents and relatives a slip and disappeared in the wee hours of Sunday.

However, Narayan's parents and relatives saw to it that their son gets married at the same wedding. Fearing that the cancelled wedding could push the groom into a depression, he was married off to a relative.
