Dating two sisters reportedly led gangster Dilpreet in police custody

Police sources claimed that the dreaded gangster Dilpreet Singh who was wanted in 16 cases was reportedly dating both the sisters Harpreet Kaur and Rupinder Kaur and this led to his arrest.

CHANDIGARH: In what could easily be the plot for a Bollywood masala movie, the jealousy between two real sisters whom the gangster Dilpreet Singh was dating `simultaneously' reportedly became the cause of conflict between them, leading to his arrest.

The gangster was arrested yesterday from here after a joint operation by both Chandigarh and Punjab Police.

Police sources claimed that the dreaded gangster Dilpreet Singh, wanted in 16 cases, was reportedly dating both the sisters- Harpreet Kaur and Rupinder Kaur and this led to his arrest as one of them spilt the beans on his whereabouts.

Both the sisters have been arrested by the police. In their interrogation, the sisters admitted that when Dilpreet was in Kapurthala Jail, he came in contact with Harpreet Kaur and when he came out, he met Harpreet Kaur and they became friends.

He, along with his other gang members started living with her at her house in Nawanshahr and later he became a friend of her younger sister Rupinder Kaur..

As Harpreet was a widow and earlier she use to live in Nawanshahr for last eight years with her two sons, she had moved to Waheguru Colony in Chandigarh, where she was arrested from.

Rupinder who's husband had left her was living alone. She had taken a house on rent in Sector 38 of the city as Dilpreet had insisted her to do so.

After that, he was living with her in that house since November last year as he was inclined towards her and had even trimmed his beard and hair.

Dilpreet had even changed his name and was living under a new name of Gagandeep Singh and in the locality, Rupinder had introduced him as her husband, states a confidential report prepared by Punjab Police.

During her interrogation Rupinder stated that drugs and arms and ammunition was lying at her elder sister Harpreet's house at Nawanshahr in Punjab.

She reportedly told the police that Dilpreet use to consume opium before February this year and after that he started taking heroin. He used to sell arms and ammunition and drugs to make both ends meet.

He also used to threaten businessmen and singers and collected ransom from them. Police have recovered Viagra tablets, Ayurvedic aphrodisiacs, Shilajit, Chandarprabha yati, condoms, Liv 52 capsules, cough syrup from the Nawanshahr house of Harpreet.

Sources said Dilpreet had watched two movies with Rupinder in Elante mall. On July 3 he watched Race 3 at 10.15 show and also watched Sanju about three days ago.

Confirming that his mother Harpreet was arrested by the police, Harsukhminder said, "Chandigarh police came to our house along with my aunt (Rupinder) and they searched our house and later took my mother with them.''
