LUCKNOW: Stirring up another controversy, firebrand leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Sadhvi Prachi has suggested the Muslim women embrace Hinduism to get rid of the vices like triple talaq and nikah halala prevalent in Islam.

She advised them to marry Hindu men to escape the draconian practices they have been suffering from for ages now. The VHP leader said that she would personally meet Muslim women including Nida Khan, a victim of triple talaq and a crusader against nikah halala, to convince them about her proposal.

Targeting the Maulvis and clerics, the Sadhvi said they were issuing 'fake' fatwas against Muslim women who were already suffering at the hands of their husbands who torment them first with triple talaq and then force them to undergo halala. "Maulvis who are issuing fake fatwas should be punished as they are spoiling the society," Sadhvi said while speaking to media persons in Mathura.

It may be recalled that Bareilly's Nida Khan had openly criticised the practice of triple talaq and domestic violence. That had prompted the Imam of Ala Hazrat Dargah in Bareilly to issue a fatwa against her. A day earlier, Prachi took a jibe at the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, saying that his party would not get a majority in next year's general elections, and hence, he should think about getting married.

Claiming that the construction of Ram Mandir would begin before the 2019 general elections, she added that PM Modi's victory was almost certain in 2019 polls. "The saints have all geared up for the Ram Mandir construction, however, we will wait for the Supreme Court's decision," Sadhvi Prachi said.?
