Nagaland: Four trekkers rescued

The trekkers, who hailed from the Golaghat Commerce College in Assam, had gone to the Dzukou valley in Kohima district on June 5 and lost their way while returning through Jakhama yesterday.

KOHIMA: Four trekkers, who lost their way while returning from the picturesque Dzukou valley, were rescued by a team of the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).

The trekkers, who hailed from the Golaghat Commerce College in Assam, had gone to the Dzukou valley in Kohima district on June 5.

They lost their way while returning through Jakhama yesterday, NSDMA officer on special duty Johnny Ruangmei told PTI.

On receipt of information in the evening, Kohima District Disaster Management Authority, a wing of the NSDMA, sent an eight-member search and rescue team to the area.

After almost four hours of rigorous search, the team brought them safely from the jungles last night, he said.
