KOLKATA: A Kolkata-based small-time short-filmmaker was arrested on Saturday for allegedly attempting to lure a woman into sexual relationship with him by promising her roles in his movies and even threatening to murder her when she refused his repeated proposals for sexual intercourse.

According to the complaint filed by the victim at Baguiati police station, the victim and accused Arnab Roy came close in 2015 by the virtue of their children studying in the same school in Baguiati in northern Kolkata.

However, soon the accused promised to give her roles in films if she agreed to have sexual intercourse with her to which she refused despite being repeatedly approached by the accused for the same. Vexed with the harassment, the victim changed her cell phone number but the accused got hold of the victim's workplace and called her up.

The victim claimed that after she repeatedly refused to have sexual relation with the accused, he claimed that he owed a sum of money that the victim had borrowed from him. "I have proved his allegation as false in the court," she said.

The victim claimed she was mentally distressed and even proposed to file a complaint against Arnab but her own family vetoed it due to the stigma attached with the proposal. However, the victim claimed that the accused barged into her residence in Kestopur recently and upon not finding her, threatened her mother-in-law and even mailed the victim's employer pointing finger at her character.

The victim filed an FIR at Topsia police station regarding harassment at workplace and in Baguiati police station over the entire incident. The victim claimed to have even apprised Arnab's wife about the proposal but she did not take any step. The victim claimed that the accused's wife was also involved in the 'racket'.
