NEW DELHI: Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday launched the DISHA dashboard as part of the DISHA week programme.

The One Stop – ‘DISHA Dashboard‘ has been developed by the rural development ministry to facilitate data driven decision making. Real time data from 18 schemes of nine ministries have been integrated with the Dashboard and other 12 schemes of eight ministries are in the process of integration. One Time Passwords or OTPs are being provided to all MPs to ensure that key data indicators remain protected from misuse.

Lauding the dashboard, Tomar said that the data related to 42 schemes under the ministry would be soon available on a single platform. “It makes it easy to identify which districts are lagging with respect to each scheme and take corrective action on them due to the dashboard,” he said and urged MPs and representatives to increase their participation in effective implementation of the schemes.

Tomar also interacted with seven MPs and rural development secretaries of 36 states and union territories. He also presented awards to units of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mizoram and Uttarakhand.

The minister urged the secretaries to ensure that the schemes were implemented in a time-bound manner. “The seeds of this scheme were implanted during Atal Bihar Vajpayee’s time and this has been improvised and taken forward from being a tool for monitoring schemes by incorporating other flagship schemes across various ministries of the government,” he said.

On the occasion, state level guidelines were released clearing the way for the constitution of state DISHA committees under the chairmanship of respective chief ministers. District committee guidelines were also revamped and launched.

The minister also launched a ‘Meeting Management Software’ to serve the objective of paperless meeting. This software will help in preparing meeting notices, agenda setting, communicating with members, circulating agenda, meeting minutes and also generate triggers on items which require follow-up action. An e-book on DISHA was also released.
