NCP fields 13 candidates in Chhattisgarh

Though NCP had tried to tie-up with the Congress earlier, the latter did not evince interest in an alliance pointing out that the former had no base in Chhattisgarh.

RAIPUR: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today announced a list of 13 candidates for coming Chhattisgarh assembly elections.

The list released by the party's State Election Coordination Committee member Neelkanth Tripathi includes the names of Vishal Gadhewal from Masturi, Suresh Kinle from Beltara, Thaneshwar Sahu from Bilaspur, Nikhad Ram Nishad from Bilha, Rameshwar Kewat from Takhtpur, Ram Khelavan Marawi from Pratapur seat and Ram Rai from Ramanujganj.

The NCP has fielded Manish Singh from Bhatagaon, Chakradhari Singh Kanwar from Lundra, Rajni Ekka from Sitapur, Lakshman Ram Khalko from Samari, Siyaram Toppo from Pathalgaon and Satyendra Kumar Mishra from Vaikunthpur.

The party is fielding candidates from 40 seats out of 90 in Chhattisgarh.

The list containing names of other candidates have been sent to the party's head office for approval.
