Furore over killing of BJP leader's son in Jharkhand

DALTONGANJ: Locals blocked traffic movement on the Japla-Chattarpur road for more than 7 hours in the Palamu district in protest against the killing of the son of a local BJP leader under Hussainabad Police Station area of the Palamu district.

The deceased Om Prakash Singh, a PDS dealer, was shot dead late last evening near a busy intersection at Japla by a couple of miscreants while he was consuming liquor at a shop.

Today morning hundreds of agitators hit the roads and burnt tyres and also forced the shops of Japla market to close down and shouted slogans demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

Later the agitation was called off later in the afternoon after SDO Kundan Kumar assured the people that the culprits would be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, police have taken into custody four people in this murder case.

It has also obtained CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and was going through the videos to collect evidence and identify the killers.
