IMPHAL: Insurgents ambushed a column of Assam Rifles in Manipur's Chandel district on Wednesday but there were no casualties, police said.

The attack took place in Ajijang village near Sajik Tampak. The police said that no insurgent group had claimed responsibility for the ambush.

It was not clear if the insurgents suffered any casualty.
