Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister M Veerappa Moily on Sunday said the Union government has already clarified that Aadhaar is a must to get subsidy on LPG.

The minister also said he will not lobby for his son, Harsha Moily, to get a Lok Sabha ticket from the party from Mangalore.

“The party high command will decide on the candidates’ list and so there is no need for lobbying,” Moily said.

Meanwhile, Moily dismissed the confusion over Netravathi river diversion and the Yetthinahole projects, clarifying that the projects are different.

“The Yettinahole project is not connected with the diversion of Netravathi river. The feasibility study report has been prepared by experts on Yettinahole project. The project was passed when D V Sadananda Gowda was chief minister,” the minister  said.

‘Aim to Stop Import of Gas’

Every development work should be encouraged with the intention of India growing as a super-power, said Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily on Sunday.

The minister was speaking after releasing a brochure  and opening an office for a convention of Mangalorean  businessmen, ‘Magnet - 2014’,   organised by Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCCI) at Bishop House Hall.

The minister said finding fault during the initial stage of projects does not work to an advantage.

“Gas is real energy without any pollution. So the Union government has a goal to make India self-sufficient in this sector by 2030. The import will stop then,” he added.

RCCCI president Ivan D’Souza, and others were present on the occasion.
