India expressed hope of there being no “exit strategy” for the international community from Afghanistan, even as the impasse between Washington and Kabul over the signing of the Bilateral Security Agreement(BSA) continued.

“People may have many strategies, but one strategy India rejects is an exit strategy from Afghanistan,” External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said at the inaugural session of the annual conclave of the International Contact Group (ICG) on Afghanistan and Pakistan here on Thursday.

The annual meeting was attended by over 60 representatives from 50 countries and 10 international organisations.

The main focus of the agenda was the 2014 presidential elections, but the ICG chairman, Germany’s Michael Koh, said that the BSA came up during contributions by members.
