Army on Saturday foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control  (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, killing four militants.

"An infiltration bid was foiled in Fateh Gali area of Keran sector, 25 kms west from Shalbhati village. Four militants have been killed in the operation," a Defence Spokesman said.

Six AK rifles were recovered from the spot, the spokesman said.

Intermittent exchange of fire between the ultras and the troops was going on in the sector where the operation against the infiltrating militants entered the 12th day today.

A group of heavily-armed militants had tried to infiltrate into Kashmir through Keran sector on September 24 but were intercepted by the Army.
