When the time comes (very soon) that I am old enough to be exactly everyone’s grandmother; I’m excited to let you guys know that I’ll be prepared with a ton of genius life hacks, fun stories and constant fantastic advice for the young citizens of tomorrow. I’m also super stoked to share this news with you now — because my grandma-phase is nearly here as my body is literally falling apart.

By ‘my body’ I mostly mean my back — which also happens to be one of the least glamorous injuries of all time. You know, as opposed to a broken arm which was ‘so cool’ because you always had some gory/exciting story as to how said limb collapsed. Also, you got a cute cast (cute till you had to remove it and the entire room smelt of garbage) and all your friends signed it with doodles and fun notes. If adults tried this, we’d probably just end up with a bunch of insults scribbled on our arms because that is exactly how desolate adulthood is.

Anyway, point being: I messed up my back. Turns out, that there are very few products that will be there for you when you’re hobbling around or lying flat and watching endless hours of Netflix. Nobody told me life was going to be this way, and I found a few loyal friends to help me get through the worst of it.
Growing up in Chennai means I became fond of anything that claimed to be “cooling” though I’d never really given any thought to the skin-healing properties a mist could have. This is when Astrea Skin Care came along and schooled me. They have a face mist which is like a SERUM and is what mermaid dreams are made of. It takes care of all my hydration and healing requirements on days when I literally cannot even (frighteningly often).

Lounging dramatically on a chenille couch/ my deathbed meant that I was a little too sleepy to give moisturising a second thought, but still craved for some yum smells and conditioning. L’occitane’s Shea Butter did all this and so much more. The best part? It promotes as little work input as possible, and can be used literally anywhere — on your lips, limbs, and even on your face!

I’m feeling a little better these days. While my back is not completely alright, I’m feeling less like a 90-year-old person as days pass by. Sleep masks and ear plugs have also become an endearing part of my routine, along with muscle relaxants and takeout mutton biryani. Also, since I’m the most intolerable tween you know — I also copped up this super cute Holly Golightly mask and an ear plug set… you know, so I can sleep like the sophisticated call girl I am in my wildest dreams.
