Most of your product fans look forward to this day as they expect some sale and promotions to be offered from your end. TBS Planet Comics just completed its 2nd anniversary on July 2.

And we did numerous things that weren’t possible on average days. For instance, we managed to cross 1000 orders in a single day. We also managed to pull off some interesting press releases and marketing partnerships. And we got quite exciting results. Here are the top lessons we learnt during our anniversary sale:

Pricing Experimentation: Anniversaries offer a very unique underlying theme that whatever pricing you offer your products on this day will not be the same as regular days pricing. We experimented at Rs 1 for our digital subscriptions for a limited time and boy, did we have blast! The servers went down for a while for the insane traffic that was coming over. People who had previously never heard about the startup were flocking to check what was available for them.

New Customer Acquisition: No matter which forums or communities you belong to, you can always take the mic on an anniversary and tell all your community colleagues that it’s your startup’s 2nd anniversary and you are offering them unique coupons or gifts etc. And thus reach out to a lot of new customer database that was previously very difficult to tap to. In our case, we were able to reach out to groups that were difficult to communicate with on regular days. 

Influencer Marketing: Anniversaries offer another unique advantage that you can contact lot of influencers like senior entrepreneurs, experts in your industry and other renowned professionals and celebrities for promoting your stuff on their pages. This will help you get interesting traction.Social Media Marketing:  Social media often craves for such days! Banners, posters, giveaways, contests – there is so much you can do on the anniversary day. Better plan your social media strategy in advance for this day.
